Aside from the fact that their historical museums and art museums are very different from what we see back at home, they also have kinds of museums that we never see in the Philippines.   1. Royal Ontario Museum (Toronto, Ontario)

 

One of the largest museums in the whole North America and the largest in the country, the Royal Ontario Museum is home to many collections – natural history galleries, world culture galleries, hands-on galleries, and the Institute for Contemporary Culture gallery. Welcoming over a million visitor each year, it is considered by many to be the best museum in Canada. On top of that, you will get to see one the most controversial and unique architecture by the architect Daniel Libeskind. No stay or visit to Canada is compelete without visiting this museum.

 

  1. Canadian Museum of History (Gatineu, Quebec)

Being in a new place far from home, it would not hurt to make an effort to get to know the country you are currently staying in, and the Canadian Museum of History is the right place to do just that. Established in 1856, it is one of the oldest institutions in North America. Formerly known as the Canadian Museum of Civilization, the museum has studied 20,000 years of Canadian human history and collected and preserved artifacts for it. Other than that, it also houses the Canadian Children Museum as well as an IMAX theatre.

 

  1. Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (Montreal, Quebec)

 

If you are an art lover, then this is the perfect museum for you. MMFA is the largest museum in Montreal, and it is one of the most well-known museums the country boasts. Currently divided into 4 pavilions and a 5th one in the making, you can enjoy over 41,000 works in their permanent collection. In addition to that, they regularly have unique exhibits.

 

  1. Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology (Drumheller, Alberta)

 

If, on the other hand, you prefer learning more about dinosaurs, the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology is a definitely a must-see! With over 110000 fossils and another 40 dinosaur skeletons – including the Tyrannosaurus rex itself, – no one is going home disappointed from this museum.
